Understand each class and what they bring to the track.

In case the news slipped you by, Gameloft's Disney Speedstorm was released in early access back in April, but at the end of September, the game made its full transition to free-to-play and has now been live for just over a month.
The game features four classes of racers; Speedster, Brawler, Trickster and Defender. The problem is the game doesn't exactly elaborate on the differences between the classes outside that they're there. So I've whipped up this handy guide to break down what exactly the pros of each class are so you can judge which racers are best for you.
It's worth noting that every class has access to 5 skills (well, once you reach star rank 2 that is). Your racer's unique skill, a skill from their class, and an additional skill from each of the other 3 classes.
Speedster

The Speedster class is all about hitting that top speed and keeping the momentum once you're there. So their kart racing kit is built to reflect that as every Speedster is given a boost to their top speed and rewarded with a portion of manual boost refill for every boost pad they drive over. When dashing into opponents they're also treated to an instant speed boost, which is reflected in their skills of either rush or boost, aiming to keep them as close to that boosted top speed stat as possible.
The Current Speedsters are; Belle, Jasmine, Lilo, Mickey Mouse, Mike Wazowski, Mowgli, Stitch and Woody.
Brawler

The Brawler as the name suggests is all about combat and getting into the action. They're given a boost to their handling stat and rewarded with manual boost refills each time they inflict a stun on other racers. Except for them, that's not limited to skill pick-ups, as their dash will also inflict a stun on each enemy, which is one hell of a trade-off. Their skills are either the shot skill or fire, giving them plenty to cause mayhem within the pack.
The Current Brawlers are; Beast, Captain Gantu, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Hercules, Jafar, Jessie, Minnie Mouse, Steamboat Pete, Sulley
Trickster

Tricksters are all about drifting and causing mischief. They're granted a boost to their boost stat and are rewarded with a portion of manual boost for drifting, meaning you'll be aiming to get drifting as much as possible to unlock that supped-up boost stat. Their dash power will inflict confusion on the enemies which reverses their controls and screens, which is one of the most irritating skills to come up against. Their skills are hack or the bomb, and yes I can confirm they are just as fun to play as they sound.
The Current Tricksters are; Aladdin, Angel, Bo Peep, Figment, Hades, Jack Sparrow, Meg, Mulan and Randall.
Defender

Defenders on the other hand are all about staying safe and benefiting from their fellow racer's misfortune. They each receive a boost to their acceleration and combat stat and are rewarded with manual boost refill by staying in the other racer's slipstream. Dashing into opponents is vital as each successful dash will reward your racer with an instant shield. Granting you the luxury of catching a boosted slipstream before you launch past them protected from whatever nasty surprise they may have in store for you. Their skills include the shield or cloak, so you'll always have plenty of protection when out ahead or entering the fray.
The Current Defenders are; Baloo, Buzz Lightyear, Celia Mae, Elizabeth Swann, Genie, Goofy, Gumba, Shang and Steamboat Mickey.

I hope that gives you a better idea of how each class functions, and just in case you didn't know the right analogue stick is used to perform dashes. Happy racing!
Thank you again for reading. :)
