Gran Turismo 7 Should Honour PlayStation: The Concert with New Music Rallies

Polyphony Digital has steadily released new content for Gran Turismo 7 since the game launched in 2022, over three years ago. Like so many Gran Turismo titles before the game cemented itself as the flagship racer for the PlayStation with tight controls, plenty of car options and a joy to play for any racing/driving game lover.

Among the plethora of content, Gran Turismo 7 has to offer the music rally is one of my favourites. It's a game mode that sees you drive a classic car to different pieces of music. The aim of music rally is to drive as much distance as possible throughout the song, with medals awarded for the distance covered, and checkpoints dotted to replenish your beats and avoid finishing prematurely.

It just gives you that joy of driving to a great piece of music, sitting back and cruising away like a Sunday drive experience. So it's probably no surprise that I wish GT7 had more. With PlayStation: The Concert, a musical experience celebrating the music of PlayStation, kicking off its World Tour on April 15th, I can't think of a better in-game celebration than Gran Turismo 7 releasing new music rallies celebrating the excellent music across PlayStation's most celebrated titles.

Maybe I'm biased in having this wish because I often find myself listening to many of the great soundtracks featured in so many PlayStation titles from; Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted, Horizon and so on, It's hard not to think how great a music rally celebrating an amalgamation of great PlayStation scores, or several rallies showcasing the most beloved titles of the platform. The music would fit beautifully with the feel that Gran Turismo 7 has already established with its music rally and these rallies could act as an in-game celebration to run alongside the concert.
