Not your typical music concert

Yes, you read that headline right. PlayStation is putting together a concert celebrating the music created for its games. The rare experience combines live music and technology to give fans and game lovers a truly unique experience.
For me, this is a concert I never knew I wanted. I adore PlayStation and so many of its titles rank amongst my favourite games of all time and hold so many beloved memories. I feel like the music in games often falls to the wayside when people talk about their favourite aspects of a game, but it's key, and a great score helps elevate any game.

At the back end of the 2010's I co-hosted a radio show dedicated to film and video game soundtracks. We would often discuss great films, games and other related dialogue, but it was a chance to get the great music people miss/take for granted, put it out there, and just let it shine. I enjoyed doing the show, speaking about games and different titles, so seeing a concert like this come together, and being able to get tickets, feels like a special occasion I want to be a part of.
There are quite a few gaming soundtracks I find myself listening to outside in my day-to-day life because I find them that good. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Uncharted, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, and so many more excellent titles. There are so many astounding musical pieces within games and this concert is an excellent way to give them the limelight aided by great visuals that'll run parallel, helping bring them to life in a way like never before.
On the flipside, this could all be an experiment that just doesn't work, I've listened to the music and I know it can exist outside of the game, but to dedicate a whole show may seem risky to others. I can't see it going wrong personally, and think it will be a fantastic time, but like a blind dog, I could always be barking up the wrong tree. I'm confident the show will be wonderful, and I'm hoping to be raving about it to you come the latter half of April.
PlayStation: The Concert is set to be a World Tour beginning April 15th 2025 in Europe, eventually making its way around the globe through 2025/2026. How do you feel about a concert based on video game music? Do you think the combination of live performance and visuals is worth the price of admission? Let me know how you feel, and if not I'll see you in the next post.
