High on Life Platinum Trophy
Difficulty: 3/10
Fun: 7/10
Online Trophies: None
Time: Around 10- 20 hours

Ever since High on Life was released on Xbox/PC in 2022 I had eagerly awaited the game's eventual release on PlayStation 5. Though that did come a year later in 2023, my hype subsided with other games and hobbies taking my attention away. Though I still wanted to play the game I held out for a sale, although to my surprise, the game came free on PS Plus in February 2025.
High on Life is a comedy first-person shooter title from Squanch Games, created by Justin Roiland, the same mind that introduced us all to Rick & Morty. The game's humour is very much in that same vain, so for those who enjoy or can go along with it, it's a good time, but for anyone who finds that humour grating, this title won't do anything to change that.
The game's story sees the G3 cartel invade Earth to capture humans as they are the new intergalactic drug aliens want their hands on. Your character will take on the role of a bounty hunter, fighting back against the G3 cartel members to save humanity and stop their human drug trading.

Taking on the story & aiming for all missable trophies
The game will have you traversing 4 different themed maps, each with smaller interlinking areas within them. Throughout the game you'll visit each one, making your way through waves of enemies until you reach the boss battle between yourself and the chosen G3 bounty. The combat in the game is good, with new weaponry and traversal equipment unlocking fairly quickly, keeping gunfights entertaining throughout the brief campaign.
The game does contain a fair amount of missable trophies that fortunately can all be done in one playthrough given you follow a specific route, (And irritating bugs/glitches don't crop up). After defeating your first bounty you can choose between tackling Douglas or Krubis, ensure you pick to tackle Douglas first as you will need Sweezy (his gun) to unlock a specific dialogue option when hunting down Krubis that is tied to an early missable trophy. As long as you take note and work on these you shouldn't have a problem enjoying yourself as you blast through the game and get barraged with absurd gun commentary as take in this unhinged world.

Get your hunt on to finish the Forums & Collect all Lugloxs
After Conquering the main story, you'll be free to explore any world you've previously visited, now equipped with all traversal gear, ready to collect all 227 in-game collectables, the lugloxs. You will likely find a good amount of them throughout your playthrough, thanks to a handy in-game map that shows you whenever warp crystals or lugloxs are near. Unfortunately, this isn't completely reliable as some can be in the Vicinity, but if you're not at the right height/area your map may not pick them up, so it's best to run it through with a guide to avoid countless backtracking.
As you work through your collectable clean-up you should also be looking at unlocking all forums which are basically High on Life's take on challenges. These will ask you to buy all items from each location's vendors, kill a certain amount of each enemy type, as well as unlock all clues so you can unlock the epilogue in the human haven (though all these clues aren't needed to get it, just to 100% the forum).

Irritating Trophies & a second go-round
Although I did have fun with High on Life, and often found myself distracted by the TV thanks to weird adverts and a random array of films, Who even knew Paul Walker starred in a 1994 film called Tammy and the T-Rex? One trophy, 'Epic Legendary Prize' wants you to watch the full robot countdown show on the TV, however, its spawn rate is really low, and you'll need to keep reloading checkpoints in your house until the advert eventually pops. This didn't take too long for me thankfully, but I've heard of other gamers spending hours trying to find it, which unsurprisingly makes for an infuriating platinum hunt.
The two trophies I experienced the most difficulty with were 'Mods Please Ban' (Complete all forum posts), this wasn't difficult but I experienced some bugs that caused the tracking to go off, and needed to reboot the game to rejig the vendor tally to count as it should. The other trophy is the missable 'A Starfish is Born' which tasks you with watching Globo's rise to fame on the bar TV after you give him a drum. The problem is this side quest feels so temperamental, that even one slight mistake causes it to fail and not show Globo on the TV, despite his posters being plastered everywhere. Despite getting the drum and exhausting dialogue his TV debut never came, as a result, I needed to run through the majority of a second playthrough getting his drum as early as possible and making sure I spoke/checked on him and his dad/friend any chance I could. Though it finally popped it meant a 2nd playthrough was needed just to pick up a missable trophy that should have initially popped on my first go-round. I've looked into this and the trophy tends to do this and has aggravated other trophy hunters as well. So it's worth being aware of it and aiming to speak to him as early as possible.
There you have it. That's my run-through of the Platinum for High on Life, a short fun FPS that didn't overstay its welcome. Though the comedy worked enough for me, it didn't hit the same levels as other games like Thank Goodness You're Here. The grind wasn't too bad hunting lugloxs despite the high count for a smaller game, but the trophy issues really put a damper on the entire experience. If you're looking for a shorter shooting platinum, High on Life will do the job, but just be aware of the bugged and missable trophies that can turn a fun platinum ride into something of a frustrating rollercoaster.
